Teaching and Workshops

My Illustration practice informs teaching and workshop delivery. Throughout my career as a Freelance Educator, I have worked with a diverse age range including: Primary, Secondary, Post 16 and community groups in schools, museums, community and University settings.

I currently work at Nottingham Trent University as an hourly paid lecturer with students studying Illustration and Graphic Design. I have additionally delivered short courses and drop in workshops for students to attend across different campus sites.

When working as a Museum Educator, projects included devising and delivering workshops for the ‘Leonardo Da Vinci: 10 drawings from the Museum Collection’ exhibition at Nottingham Castle, delivering workshops on behalf of The National Lottery, British Art Show, BBC Masterpieces in Schools, Princes Trust Poetry Quest, The National Centre for Craft and Design and Creative Nottingham North. Alongside teaching, I additionally devised teacher aid resources packs for the National Gallery’s Take One Picture project to accompany the Nottingham Castle gallery experience.

The aim of school and community workshops is to produce collaborative artwork which can be displayed and celebrated.

In 2022 I worked with Nottingham Museums Learning Programmes Officer and local writer to celebrate a recent procurement of a DH Lawrence portrait exhibited at Newstead Abbey for a Heritage Lottery funded project on DH Lawrence, producing online and in school art education resources and workshops for Primary and Secondary school pupils.
